The Band Chief Executive Officer/Chief Financial Officer (CEO/CFO) of the Band is responsible for the overall operations and administration of the Band, as well as maintaining financial control of Band’s financial resources. The CEO/CFO is responsible to Chief and Council and empowered by Chief and Council, to achieve the objectives and plans established with/by the Council, within the prescribed budgets. This position ensures that Band Council policies and regulations are adhered to, and that Council’s decisions are implemented, and oversees the smooth running and operation of all Band programs; and for ensuring that programs are administered within budget. The Band CEO/CFO is reportable to the Chief and Council.
Adriana Guerra Professional Profile
I have a Specialization in Organizational Control as well as a Bachelor degree in Accounting. These degrees combined with over six years experience in business processes evaluation, accounting, auditing, systems implementation, financial control, variance analysis, budget building. My Education and work experience in diverse organizations has allowed me to gain excellent knowledge of financial and management accounting and team building and leadership skills.
Over the years I have strengthened my knowledge and skills of technical programs essential to my work including SAP, ACCPAC, Simply Accounting, Lotus Notes and Microsoft Office. I am also able meet deadlines and work under pressure. In my capacity as the Financial Controller, my responsibilities were stretched over accounting, payroll and banking, financial statement preparation and analyses, budgeting, timely reporting on programs and contribution agreements within the community and collaborating with internal and external key stakeholders.
